Lew - I am not very well versed at all with HSS, except that it advocates a strong lead hand grip and no forearm rotation in the downswing.

I can say this much - If I make a proper MGS twist and set up, I can play quality golf shots using a wide variety of grips, swing styles, and "methods". I can go hands low two axis like traditional golf, hands high like single axis, I can "do Moe Norman" even.

The thing that makes MGS unique is the pre-twist and set-up that has your trail shoulder BEHIND AND BELOW the lead shoulder AT ALL TIMES. This ensures an inside and shallow attack on the ball and the firing of the lower body and upper body at the correct time.

So i would say go ahead and make an MGS twist and set, then keeping it, use your HSS action to make your swing. i zm "fairly confident" you will like the result.

Yes, I think it possible to incorporate MGS with some elements of HSS. I use the HSS grip and lining up of the trail forearm with the shaft. However, I do not shift the lead hip forward and put most of my weight on my right side ala HSS. I just use the set up from MGS, equal weight on soft knees, centered ball position, twist. I then use the HSS swing.

I find that the ball goes straight and long for irons and woods.

Tried mgs twist and HSS grip on range and had great results! I did use the exagerated bend and weight on right side though. HSS/MGS=KISS
